Hexryde Update! Poll Results, New Poll and Twitter!

Jan 17
2010

favicon_newsSo…remember that poll we put up wayy back? Well I think its time to tally the votes. The poll is shown below, and it looks this site mostly attracts Windows users (probably due to the lack of Mac, Linux and Other posts). Even then, we have a tie between Vista and XP users and the Win7 users are getting up there, don’t forget its only been about 3 months since it was released.

Your current OS is…

* Windows Vista (29%, 54 Votes)
* Windows XP (29%, 54 Votes)
* Windows 7 (24%, 45 Votes)
* Mac OS (12%, 23 Votes)
* Linux/Other (6%, 9 Votes)

Total Voters: 185

A new poll has been added, this asking for your current Phone OS. Also the TWITTER account for Hexryde has been restored and you can follow it for quick news updates, product releases and more material that may not make it in actual posts on the site. The username/site is below. There is also a twitter feed on the right sidebar for quick access and convenience. Enjoy and don’t forget to participate in the poll!

Microsoft’s GodMode: A Control Panel with no limits

Jan 06
2010

This is a very short but very handy little tip. Microsoft’s GodMode is basically a control panel containing everything that you can play around with, so it in essence it is a Control Panel with more options and abilities. This works with Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Not THAT exciting enough to be called GodMode but…here we go.

1. Create a New Folder anywhere on you PC.
2. Rename the folder to the following (you can copy and paste this):

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

3. The icon should change and the name of the folder should automatically be renamed to “GodMode.”
4. That’s it! You got a extended control panel where ever you want.

Hit the jump to see a video of God Mode being created and in action!

Top 5 iPhone Racers!

Dec 24
2009

I hope you all enjoyed the Top 5 iPhone Shooters, and if you are into iPhone racing games, here is the Top 5 iPhone racers. This list is in NO SPECIFIC ORDER, it is just a collection of the top racing games and giving the priority over one another was too difficult as they were each awesome in there own way. The recently released NFS Shift has not been reviewed yet, thus its absence in this list, but it certainly will be on the next Top 5 Racers list, if it sees the light of  day. Enjoy!

Real Racing

RR1 RR2

graphics 4
controls 5
Fun 4

This is the most realistic racer on the iPhone, period. With more than 10 tracks, amazing graphics, various (about 5) methods of controls including accelerometer based, wheel, and touch, this game goes beyond limits. The special feature of this racer compared to others is the cockpit view with astonishing details for each car. Although they are not real (licensed) cars, except the newly added Volkswagon GTI, they are very unique and different in terms of looks and driving. You also get multiplayer so you can race friends…and foes. Do remember, this was released before the iPhone 3GS came out, what with the sexy graphics more RAM and CPU and all. So if Real Racing 2 ever comes out, you can expect it to top another racing games list.

Dec 24
2009

As time passes  by and the cycle  continues, another iPhone firmware (and another iPhone) comes to life. Reports, rumours and data have been pointing to iPhone 3.2 and 4.o live and roaming the world. A developers analytical data has shown that an iPhone 4.o was used, as can be seen below. As for the new iPhone itself, the rumors are just starting.  Will it be an HD phone? Will it use  the 5 megapixel cameras that Apple ordered but havent used on anything yet? Will the form factor be different? Will be talked about at Apple’s Special Media event on January 26th 2010? We will just have to wait and see….
