How to: Partition your hard-drive!

I have been asked many times how to partition a hard-drive, so I’m writing this blog with two methods, one for Windows Vista users and one for users with other operation systems. For Vista users, life is much easier as Microsoft has embedded a neat feature in their operation system which allows you to do this very easily. Here is a quick video running through how to partition a hard drive.
For users using other operating system such as Windows XP, there is a neat program called GParted; which can be downloaded from: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/. Once you have downloaded the file, you must burn it as an ISO image to a DVD. Assuming that you know how to do this step, I will quickly run through the steps to partition your hard drive. - Insert the burned DVD.
- Select the “Don’t touch keymap”
- Next select the hard drive you wish to partition
- Finally, in the Partition menu select new or resize!
