Well, due to all the new info leaks, millions of chip orders from Apple, and “iPhone 2,1″ and “iPhone 3,1″ finds in the data strings in newer firmwares, it is inevitable that there is a new iPhone on the way. Apple, as usual, has been completely silent about this and never mentioned anything related to a new iPhone. But for the last two years at the WWDC new iPhones have been introduced with new major firmware updates, such as the iPhone 3G and Firmware 2.0 (with the “billion apps downloaded” successful App Store) and at this year’s WWDC, it will be Firmware 3.0 with loads of new features. It has been been confirmed that Steve Jobs will NOT return in time for WWDC happening June 8 – June 13, so analysts are expecting that there will be a second event where Jobs will make his triumphant return and bring a lot of new things with him, including the new iPhone. Apple’s WWDC Keynote will take place on Monday June 8th, at 10AM and wil be presented by Phil Schiller, who has hosted Apple’s last two events. Regarding the new iPhone, a user on a Chinese Apple fan site named  patapon200 claims to have tried the prototype as his partner works at the manufacturing company Foxconn.

Here is what he concluded in terms specs:

• An upgraded 600 Mhz Samsung ARM processor - The current iPhone 3G has only a 400 Mhz processor, this upgrade willbring more speed to the phone.
• 256 MB of RAM – Right now we are at 128 MB of RAM so this will certainly be nice interms of access speed.
• 32 GB of Storage – Another double from the iPhone 3G which has max 16 GB of storage. Hoorray…more music, more apps, more games, and more “Office” episodes on the go. (Apple ordered millions of NAND flash chips from Samsung, CNET news)
• 3.2 Megapixel camera with Autofocus – Certainly better than the 2.o Megapixel camera we have now (Apple ordered 3.2 Megapixel image sensors from Omnivison, Edible Apple).
• Digitial compass – To work with and independant of the GPS. (Magnetometer options have been discovered in Firmware 3.0 beta 5)
• FM Radio – Something Apple has never included, which raises questions as to why it would now.
• Same shape and screen dimensions - Screen dimensions make sense as a different one would make the App Store apps and games over/undersized.

The poster also provides the screenshot above with new storage, Firmware 3.0 and a new Apple model number. This can be a made up claim as a simple image like that can be easily photoshopped but these specs are not far-out and most of the do have proof. In my opinion, if this is true, it is possible that there may be another iPhone later on with the 5 Megapixel camera, and the “iPhone 3,1″ tag.
